Fabian is a Professor in Weed Ecology and Management at Montana State University. His research and outreach activities focus on improving the sustainability of agricultural systems by developing management approaches that are based on ecological principles. Specific interests include weed ecology and management, design of sustainable farming practices to promote ecosystem services, and multi-trophic interactions in conventional and alternative cropping systems. Fabian was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he obtained his B.S. in biology. He obtained a Ph.D. in forestry at the University of Massachusetts while working at the Biological Station La Selva, Costa Rica. Prior to Montana, Fabian conducted research on ecology and natural resource management at the Harvard Forest, Michigan State University, and Iowa State University.
